Wood Fence Repair
Wood fences in Houston need periodic repairs in order to maintain it in best shape aside from keeping your yard safe and secure. You can also let your pets roam around your yard without keeping an eye on him. All you have to do is to list down and prepare all the materials you will need in repairing your wood fence. Take note of all the parts of the fence that need repairing so that you will not miss out anything.
Replace boards that have holes and distorted with a new one but old and heavily damaged boards should be removed completely by backing out the screws with a power drill and replace in new boards to have a uniform look.
Refill the dirt around each fence post with a compressing bar to ensure the fence post is firmly placed in the ground to support the rails. Scrub away the molds with mold removal solution mixed with water. Saturate rotted parts of the fence with wood preservative to prevent it from spreading.
Pull out old screws and replace it with new ones. Be sure to tighten and re-screw any loose boards or planks with a power drill. Use a level to have the crooked boards placed into line. Use a paintbrush to stain your fence beginning at one end of the wood up to the bottom. Use stain with high resistance to UV rays to protect your fence and make it last longer.
Attach steel T-braces to any crossbeams that are unsteady to save the beam without removing any of the pieces. Have your fence stained every 24 to 36 months depending on the weather conditions or the type of stain you applied.
